Goro Kishitani in Miike Takashi's Shin Jingi no Hakaba (export title "Graveyard of Honour")...what a performance! He takes typical, swaggering, punch-permed yakuza acting to new heights (and depths). It's a full-on drug and violence-fueled deathtrip that most actors would be too vain or too scared to immerse themselves in. Director Miike Takashi has won me over this time. I'd link to a homepage, but Kadokawa-Daiei seem to be having trouble figuring out a presence on the internet. Here's Midnight Eye's review.
